Modern graphic design is considered a form of communication design. Graphic designers create and combine symbols, images, and text to form visual representations of ideas and messages. They use typography, visual arts & coding techniques to create visual compositions.
The pragmatics of graphic design determines its technical & communication varieties: corporate advertising design (advertising, logos & branding, product packaging, “outdoor advertising”), editorial & publishing design (book design, magazines, newspapers, booklets and flyers).
